New York City's annual Fourth of July fireworks display, a hallmark of American Independence Day celebrations, is set to ignite the night sky with over 85,000 pyrotechnics. This year's event will illuminate both the Hudson and East Rivers and feature a laser light show from the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Macy's Fourth of July fireworks special is scheduled to air on NBC on July 4, 2026, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST. For those without traditional cable, the show will be available for streaming. DIRECTV is offering a five-day free trial that includes access to NBC, making it a way to watch the event without cost. Following the trial, the service is priced at $44.99 per month for over 90 live channels. Additionally, the fireworks will stream in real-time on Peacock. Viewers can also access the broadcast via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial.
This year's pre-fireworks entertainment will be hosted by Terry Crews and will include performances from a lineup of notable artists. Scheduled to take the stage are Post Malone, Noah Kahan, Salt-N-Pepa, Shaboozey, and Bebe Rexha. Shaboozey is returning to the Macy's stage, having performed in previous years.
For attendees in New York City, public viewing areas are available along the East River, with specific details to be released on Macy's website. Previously, a lottery was held for 100,000 free tickets for viewing areas in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Manhattan's Seaport.
The preparation for the annual event involves a 75-person crew and can take up to 12 days. This year's display is noted as one of Macy's most expansive, with fireworks planned for both the Hudson and East Rivers simultaneously, a less common occurrence for the show.
