French President Emmanuel Macron met with Saida Mirziyoyeva, the eldest daughter of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday.
Mirziyoyeva, who has been described as Uzbekistan's "Ivanka Trump" due to her prominent political role and large social media following, discussed expanding France-Uzbekistan relations with Macron. She also met with France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, on Monday.
"I am grateful to President of France Emmanuel Macron for the warm welcome and kind reception," Mirziyoyeva stated on Telegram. "I conveyed the warmest wishes from the President of Uzbekistan."
She added that the two countries are linked by a "long-standing partnership across key strategic areas" and expressed confidence in future joint projects. Mirziyoyeva, 41, is the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan. She has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram.
