Macklemore Announces 'Free Palestine Tour' After Ed Sheeran Tour Removal

Rapper Macklemore has announced a new "Free Palestine Tour" scheduled to kick off in October, following his removal from Ed Sheeran's stadium tour due to his vocal support for Palestine. The tour, which will feature shows in Dublin, Paris, and London, aims to raise funds for organizations supporting the Palestinian people.

Macklemore shared his intentions on Instagram, stating that the recent weeks have revealed a "collective awakening around Palestinian liberation" and a pushback against censorship of such calls. He criticized the idea of remaining apolitical during what he described as a "genocide," emphasizing that artists are increasingly expected to use their platforms for more than just entertainment and to advocate for their beliefs, even when facing consequences.

"So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit," Macklemore wrote, referencing his departure from Sheeran's tour. He indicated that he has been collaborating with other artists who have also been vocal about their support for Palestinians, despite potential repercussions.

The "Free Palestine Tour" currently has three dates: Oct. 26 in Dublin, Oct. 29 in Paris, and Oct. 30 in London. While no supporting acts have been named, Macklemore confirmed that all proceeds will be donated to Palestinian aid and advocacy groups.
