Mac Jones, quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, recently shared insights into his dating life and preferences during an appearance on the podcast "The Kittle Things," hosted by his teammate George Kittle and Kittle's wife, Claire.
When asked about his ideal partner, Jones stated that he is "attracted to smart, smart, ladies." However, he also revealed a specific dating dealbreaker: a strong dislike for seafood. "Just don’t go to a seafood spot with me," Jones said.
Kittle and his wife initially believed Jones had a seafood allergy, but the quarterback clarified that it is a matter of preference rather than a medical condition. "I’m not allergic to anthing, I just don’t like it," Jones explained, humorously adding that he's the type to "eat chicken tenders at a seafood restaurant" and would seek out the children's menu.
Jones's comments come after his split from ex-girlfriend Sophie Scott earlier this year. The couple had been together since 2019, meeting at the University of Alabama. Scott supported Jones through his tenure with the New England Patriots and his subsequent move to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, where he backed up Trevor Lawrence. He then signed a two-year deal with the 49ers in 2025.
Prior to his current team, Jones was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. His time in New England saw two losing seasons before his trade to Jacksonville. He is set to become a free agent after the current season.
Last month, San Francisco teammate Kyle Juszczyk described Jones as "a ladies man" on Peter Schrager’s "Big Day" podcast, noting the frequent DMs he receives from women seeking to connect with Jones. "I get so many DMs from girls asking to be hooked up with Mac," Juszczyk said.
The 49ers are currently heading into a bye week following a recent defeat. Jones has seen limited action this season, appearing for eight snaps during a Week 2 win against the Dolphins. The team is scheduled to host the Raiders in Week 9 before traveling to face Dallas the following week.
