Mac and Cheese Mishap on This Morning Sparks Viewer Outrage

Chef John Torode presented a mac and cheese dish on Monday's "This Morning" that viewers deemed "burnt and inedible." Hosts Sian Welby and Dermot O'Leary were tasked with tasting the overcooked pasta, which Torode himself acknowledged was "a little overdone" as he removed it from the oven.

Social media platforms buzzed with viewer reactions, with many taking to X to express their dissatisfaction. Comments included observations like "Hahahaha looks a bit burnt," "Burnt food is delish, yeah right…," and "Don't think its meant to be that colour!"

This culinary misstep follows recent news that Torode and his wife, Lisa Faulkner, sold their north London home for £1.8 million. The sale occurred 15 months after Torode's departure from BBC's "MasterChef," where his contract was not renewed following an allegation of singing along to a song containing offensive lyrics.

The couple reportedly reduced the asking price by £105,000 to secure the sale, still making a profit of nearly £600,000 on the property they purchased for £1.2 million in 2015. Their former home, featured in their YouTube cooking show "John And Lisa's Kitchen And Home," underwent extensive renovations, including the creation of a bespoke kitchen and diner, and was maintained with its original Edwardian features.

Faulkner recently shared her recovery from breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with in April, finding solace in their garden. She expressed contentment with a life focused on cooking with her husband and acting.
