Mabel Lowe Pays Tribute to Late Sister Fiona, 13, After Death by Suicide

Mabel Lowe, 17, has shared a heartfelt tribute to her younger sister, Fiona, who died by suicide at the age of 13. Fiona passed away at a Los Angeles hospital on September 29. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office officially ruled her death a suicide.

Mabel posted a series of images on social media over the weekend, accompanying them with a touching message for her sister. "I love you so much fiona," Mabel wrote on Instagram. "I wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now. I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much."

Family friends offered condolences to Mabel and her family during this difficult period. Actor Jeremy Renner commented, "Bless you dear Mabel 🙏🏼🙏🏼. ❤️‍🩹 My deepest condolences to you and the family." Actress Jessica Capshaw wrote, "What a beautiful tribute to your sister ♥️♥️ I have had you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and I’m sending you all so much love."

Fiona was the middle child of actor Chad Lowe and his wife, producer and casting professional Kim Painter. The couple, who have been together for nearly two decades, have largely maintained a private family life away from the Hollywood spotlight.

"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona," the family said in a statement released Tuesday. "She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

The statement continued, "Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time." The family concluded by encouraging anyone struggling with mental health issues to contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Chad Lowe, younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, is an Emmy-winning actor and director known for his work on shows such as "Life Goes On," "Pretty Little Liars," and "9-1-1: Lone Star." Kim Painter's credits include "Enemy of the State," "Ted Bundy," and "Instant Dads."
