Lynda Carter Honored at Angel Ball in New York
The 'Wonder Woman' star, 75, attended the annual Gabrielle's Angel Foundation fundraiser, alongside other notable guests.
Lynda Carter, the iconic actress known for her role as Wonder Woman, was honored at the 28th annual Angel Ball held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Monday night. The 75-year-old star graced the event's purple carpet, exuding glamour in a figure-hugging shimmering black gown paired with a dramatic velvet ruffled coat.
The Angel Ball is an annual fundraiser supporting blood cancer and leukemia research for Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. Carter was among the honorees at this year's event.
Also in attendance were Hilaria and Alec Baldwin. Hilaria Baldwin, 42, wore a strapless floral gown with a black satin skirt, and posed for photos with her husband, Alec Baldwin, 68.
Other notable guests included Kathy Hilton, Sandra Lee, and Denise Rich, who also walked the purple carpet.
Carter, who was crowned Miss World USA in 1972, became widely known for her starring role as Wonder Woman in the television series that aired from 1975 to 1979. She has also appeared in other projects, including the series 'Supergirl' and the 2005 film 'Sky High,' and made a cameo in the 2020 film 'Wonder Woman 1984.'
Reflecting on her iconic role in a past interview, Carter described Wonder Woman's strength as stemming from her goodness, kindness, and humanity. "That she cannot be victimised is one of the greatest strengths. She does not victimise others; she protects," Carter said. She also noted the protective "mama bear" instinct found in women.
In a 2024 interview, Carter shared her perspective on aging, stating she has not undergone facial surgery because she is afraid of the results. "I don't cut my face, so I probably look just myself, but older," she commented. She recalled facing financial hardship before landing the role of Wonder Woman, stating she had "literally $25 in my checking account" at the time, having been on the road as a singer since high school.
