Luxury Real Estate Brothers Sentenced to 30 Years for Sex-Trafficking Scheme
Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander convicted of luring dozens of women into sex trafficking, facing life sentences.
Three brothers who operated as luxury real estate brokers and executives have been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for their involvement in a years-long sex-trafficking scheme.
U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni handed down the sentences Tuesday in New York to Tal Alexander, 40, and his twin brothers, Oren and Alon Alexander, 39. The sentences follow their conviction in March by a federal jury on charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, inducing travel for unlawful sexual activity, and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.
Prosecutors had sought life sentences for each brother, while the defense requested the minimum sentence of 15 years. In court filings, prosecutors alleged the brothers raped or sexually assaulted at least 70 women, describing them as "serial rapists" who used wealth, luxury travel, and exclusive properties to lure victims.
During the four-week trial, eleven accusers testified, with some stating they were minors at the time of the assaults. They described being given gifts and flown to parties and other destinations where they claim they were drugged before being attacked. One accuser told the court, "It took one night, only a few hours, one invitation to completely wreck the girl I once was."
Prosecutors alleged that the brothers used a "consistent playbook to lure, isolate and rape their victims," characterizing their actions as carried out with "callousness and a perverse sense of pride."
In their defense, the brothers denied the allegations, arguing the encounters were consensual and accusing prosecutors of overreach. The brothers addressed the court before sentencing, with Oren Alexander stating, "My brothers and I have never drugged or raped anyone. We never trafficked anyone for sex and we never conspired to hurt anyone."
Tal and Oren Alexander had achieved prominence in the luxury real estate market, brokering significant deals, including the sale of a penthouse for nearly $240 million in 2019, which was then a U.S. record. They later co-founded the luxury real estate firm Official in 2022. Alon Alexander was an executive at his family's private security company.
Court documents previously stated that the brothers used "the promise of luxury experiences, travel, and accommodations" to lure women to locations where they were then sexually assaulted. Prosecutors indicated that the alleged sexual violence may have begun when the brothers were high school students in Miami. All three brothers were arrested in 2024 and had been held in custody without bail.
