Luke Combs Reveals 30-Pound Weight Loss During Utah Elk Hunt

Country music star Luke Combs announced he has lost 30 pounds during a recent elk hunting trip in Utah, citing his role as a father as a primary motivation for his health journey.

In a vlog shared on the Leupold Optics YouTube channel, Combs remarked on his weight loss, stating, "I'm down 30-lbs since last time. You probably can't tell because the camera adds 30-lbs, but I am down a little bit from last time." He added that getting healthy has been his "main goal."

Combs, who has three sons with his wife Nicole, previously discussed his weight loss motivations in a 2022 interview with Apple Music. He shared that having children inspired him to prioritize his health and longevity. "This having a kid thing has really messed up my head on this thing in the best way. I want to be around, dude. Do you know what I mean?" he said.

He also acknowledged past struggles with weight, attributing some of it to genetics but ultimately accepting responsibility for his choices. "It was always something that’s bugged me … especially when you’re younger. You’re like, ‘Man, I just got a horrible genetic dice roll on this thing.’ You start to realize that almost even more when you’re older — and it’s like, not that I don’t pig out because I do pig out," Combs stated. "I’m not trying to say it’s not my fault, because it is in a lot of ways. But also, I got to this point where I’m like, man, I’d really love to trim down. And it’s so hard for me to do that."

During the hunting trip, Combs' objective was to hunt and tag a mature elk, preferably with a bow. While he was not successful with a bow, he did manage to achieve his goal with a rifle. The country star reiterated his commitment to conquering his personal health goals in a 2023 appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, emphasizing that this endeavor is solely up to him.
