Anamaria Goltes' petition for child support from NBA player Luka Doncic was formally dismissed on Friday, concluding a legal dispute that began in March. The dismissal came after a brief, sharp exchange between attorneys representing both sides in a Los Angeles County courtroom.
Luka Doncic's lawyer, Laura Wasser, a prominent divorce attorney, questioned the necessity of the filing, suggesting it had unnecessarily consumed the time of her client and herself. Goltes' attorney, Evan C. Itzkowitz, confirmed that a dismissal had been requested. Itzkowitz explained to the court that the case had previously been filed but was rejected due to a missing signature, and had since been resubmitted.
Judge Melissa C. Lyons granted the request for dismissal without prejudice, meaning the case could potentially be refiled at a later date. Both legal representatives acknowledged the ruling and concluded the remote hearing.
The legal action originated on March 9 when Goltes formally requested child support from Doncic. This public filing marked the first acknowledgment of the split between the NBA star and the Slovenian model and influencer. Following the initial filing, Doncic retained Wasser, who subsequently filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that Goltes' petition was an attempt to leverage California's reputation for substantial child support awards.
In an August 3 request to withdraw her petition, Goltes stated her desire to resolve the dispute with Doncic "amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children." Reports indicate that Goltes had sought $50 million from Doncic as part of a settlement.
