Luka Doncic Among Key Lakers Sitting Out Preseason Game Against Warriors
Superstar guard Luka Doncic was among several Lakers players who did not play in Tuesday's preseason matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
Superstar Luka Doncic was among a list of Los Angeles Lakers players who were unavailable for Tuesday's preseason game against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center.
Doncic, along with Austin Reaves, Walker Kessler, Matisse Thybulle, Ziaire Williams, Collin Sexton, and two-way forward Arthur Kaluma, did not play. This decision came on the second night of a back-to-back for the Lakers, who had played the Sacramento Kings the previous evening.
Reaves, Kessler, Sexton, and Kaluma had also been sidelined for Monday's preseason opener against the Kings in Sacramento. Doncic had led the Lakers with 21 points in that game, marking his return to the floor after a six-month absence.
With a significant number of their usual lineup unavailable, the Lakers started Bronny James, Quentin Grimes, Adou Thiero, Jake LaRavia, and Sandro Mamukelashvili against the Warriors. The Warriors, conversely, started Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg, and Draymond Green.
The Warriors were also in the midst of a condensed schedule, playing the second night of a back-to-back. They had faced the Clippers in Hawaii on Sunday in their initial preseason contest and were set to play the Trail Blazers in Portland on Wednesday night.
The Lakers are scheduled to host the Kings again on Thursday at Crypto.com Arena.
