Lucy Mecklenburgh has shared that she and fiancé Ryan Thomas maintain separate living spaces in the evenings and do not share a bed, attributing these arrangements to differing television habits and Thomas's snoring.
Mecklenburgh, 35, told The Mirror that her preference for shows like "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and "Off Campus" differs from Thomas's interest in documentaries, leading them to occupy separate rooms. "That works for us," she stated.
The decision not to share a bed stems from Thomas's snoring and sleep-talking, which Mecklenburgh says disrupts her sleep. "I have to sleep, especially with two young kids," she explained. "It's full-on, so I'd just turf him out to the spare room because I'd be like, 'Shut up!', and that kind of evolved."
Mecklenburgh also indicated that their wedding is not currently a priority, noting that having children before marriage has altered their focus. The couple shares two children, son Roman, six, and daughter Lilah, four. "I think it's become harder because we had kids before we got married," she said, adding that raising a family and relocating to Manchester in recent years has been demanding.
Thomas, 42, had previously discussed their sleeping arrangements on his podcast, "At Home With The Thomas Bros." He mentioned that in their Manchester residence, they use separate beds and living rooms. When staying in their smaller London home, however, they reportedly share a bed due to limited space.
This arrangement has been a topic of discussion, with Thomas's brothers, Adam and Scott, expressing surprise. Last year, Mecklenburgh elaborated on the reason for separate beds, citing Thomas's snoring and tendency to "whack me in his sleep."
