A traveler at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) experienced an extraordinary layover over the weekend, winning a $3.3 million jackpot on a "Wheel of Fortune" slot machine. The win was announced by airport officials on Monday.

The passenger, identified only as "Anthony" by the game manufacturer IGT, hit the substantial prize in the airport's C Gates after placing a $10 bet. This marks one of the latest significant jackpots at the Las Vegas airport, which is known for its in-terminal gambling.

Harry Reid International Airport is one of only two commercial airports in the United States to feature gambling facilities, with the other being Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Michael Gaughan's Airport Slot Concession operates over 1,400 machines across the terminals. These machines generate considerable revenue, which reportedly helps reduce operating costs for airlines and can contribute to more competitive airfares.

This is not the first large payout at LAS. In May 2025, another traveler won $1.8 million on a "Wheel of Fortune" machine in the D Gates with a $5 bet. Previous jackpots include a $1.4 million win and a $1.3 million win in 2023.

While "Anthony" will be subject to a 24% federal tax withholding on his winnings, Nevada does not impose state income tax or taxes on gambling winnings. Airport officials extended congratulations to the winner on social media.
