LSU Fraternities Suspended Amid Hazing Investigation
Delta Kappa Epsilon and Phi Gamma Delta face interim suspensions following allegations including waterboarding and forced milk consumption.
Two fraternities at Louisiana State University, Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) and Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI), have been placed on interim suspension as the university investigates hazing allegations.
An urgent complaint filed on September 3 alleged that members of DKE subjected pledges to waterboarding. According to reports, the individual who filed the complaint stated, "They [DKE] had me doing wall sits and were actively water boarding me in the process."
Allegations against Phi Gamma Delta include claims that pledges were "forced to chug a gallon of chocolate milk, which caused many of them to puke." Pledges were also reportedly ordered to bring a squirrel to a meeting.
LSU confirmed the interim suspensions to Fox News Digital. The complaint that initiated the investigation was made anonymously.
Delta Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity issued a statement acknowledging the allegations. "DKE is aware of the allegations involving the Zeta Zeta Chapter at Louisiana State University and takes them seriously," the statement read. "DKE is cooperating with the appropriate authorities as they review the matter. We will take appropriate action based on the facts established through those processes. Because the matter remains under investigation, we will not comment further at this time."
