Loyal Dog Leads Police to Owner Who Fell at Kansas Home

A dog in Leawood, Kansas, is being credited with saving its owner's life after alerting police to a fall victim. The Leawood Police Department shared bodycam footage showing an officer encountering a dog walking on a leash in the middle of a residential street.

“The officer noticed the dog was on a leash, but there was no owner in sight,” the department stated. The dog appeared to bark at the officer, who then followed it for about half a block to a residence.

Upon arrival at the home, the officer discovered the garage door open and the homeowner lying on the floor, unable to move. According to police, the resident had been in that position for over three hours.

Bodycam video shows the officer following the dog up the driveway, where another dog emerged. The officer confirmed the location and proceeded to assist the fallen resident.
