Love Island Star's Girlfriend Jailed for Tax Fraud, Loses Luxury Assets

Iris Rabaya Au, girlfriend of Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to declare over $2.6 million in income on her tax returns. Au, who referred to herself as 'The Goddess,' admitted to one count of subscribing to a false tax return as part of a plea deal agreed in March.

In addition to the prison sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson on September 21, Au was ordered to pay $1.4 million in restitution. She has also been compelled to forfeit a significant collection of luxury assets, including a Ferrari 488 Pista, a Porsche 911, a Mercedes-Benz GLS, and 14 Louis Vuitton handbags, along with items from Chanel, Prada, Burberry, Hermes, Gucci, and Dior. Three 'Godfather' sculptures were also seized.

Prosecutors stated that Au, 37, facilitated her then-boyfriend Adam Iza, a cryptocurrency businessman who called himself 'The Godfather,' by creating shell businesses and opening bank accounts to conceal millions of dollars in illicit funds. Between 2020 and 2023, more than $2.6 million was transferred from various accounts into Au's personal bank accounts, which she did not declare to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

These undeclared funds were allegedly used to pay approximately $1 million, largely in cash, to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies who provided private security for Iza. Prosecutors also claim Iza utilized these deputies to obtain confidential information and court-authorized search warrants for individuals with whom he had disputes. The illicit funds were reportedly used to purchase or lease luxury properties, vehicles, jewelry, and clothing, and to finance recreational spending totaling nearly $10 million.

Authorities indicated that Au acquired around $16 million in cryptocurrency for Iza using the shell accounts. Prosecutors argued that Au set up the financial infrastructure that allowed Iza to move, spend, and conceal fraud proceeds, while she personally benefited and deliberately concealed entities and income from her tax preparer, filing returns that reported only a fraction of her actual earnings.

Au, a mother of two from Orange County, California, has suggested she was a victim of coercion in a social media video shared prior to her sentencing, stating she was in an abusive relationship with a former partner and made mistakes, including with her taxes. Sanclimenti, who won Love Island in 2022, has publicly supported Au, with whom he began dating in May 2024 and went public in January 2025. He wrote in a supportive comment, "I know how much you’ve suffered and you never deserved any of this."

Adam Iza pleaded guilty in January 2025 to conspiracy against rights, wire fraud, and tax evasion. He is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence for his involvement in an attempted Bitcoin robbery and kidnapping in Connecticut in August 2024 and is scheduled to appear in court on October 5.

Au was accompanied by Sanclimenti and friends, including influencer Alli Stavro and personal injury lawyer Tina Odjaghian, when leaving the courthouse after her sentencing.
