Dumped Love Island contestant Elicia Bailey has criticized co-star Priya Jaswal, labeling her remarks about Bailey's National Rail job as "bitter" and a "personal attack." Jaswal's comments, made on the reality television show, targeted Bailey's £30,000-a-year role as a team organizer for National Rail.

Bailey addressed the situation on the Love Island Debrief podcast, stating that she found Jaswal's comments "crazy." She explained that her own remarks about Jaswal on the spin-off show Aftersun, where she called Jaswal the "biggest game player," were in response to a question and not intended as a personal attack on Jaswal's character.

"The comments that she made tonight, she said that I attacked her character, but I was asked a question on Aftersun," Bailey said. "Everybody goes on Aftersun. I was asked a question, it wasn't an attack on anyone's personality, anyone's character but the comments she made was a personal attack, like where I work. That's crazy, I'm the target."

Bailey suggested that Jaswal's reaction appeared "bitter" and "jealous," adding that she felt she was an "easy target" because she was present when the comments were made. She also noted that other contestants had expressed similar opinions about Jaswal.

Priya Jaswal, whose potential earnings from her role could be around £43,000 based on national averages, reportedly said of Bailey's job: "Go back to the National Rail. Elicia, you work for the National Rail, why are you f***ing sitting in Aftersun?... But just go back there and save your breath."

Viewers expressed outrage on social media, with many calling Jaswal's remarks "vile, classist and tone deaf." Many defended Bailey's job, highlighting the importance of railway workers and stating that no honest job should be disrespected. Some noted that fellow contestant Kavan interjected during Jaswal's rant to defend railway work, while others like Jasmine Müller and Mica Harris appeared to laugh.

Jaswal's partner, Aidan Murphy, also reportedly spoke to her about the problematic nature of her comments regarding Bailey's job.

Bailey's role as a team organizer at Southeastern, a UK train company, involves a Monday to Friday schedule with an average annual pay of £30,000, along with free rail travel. The position requires IT knowledge, strong communication skills, and general understanding of the rail industry.

This controversy follows a week where Love Island reportedly faced over 500 complaints to the UK's broadcasting regulator, Ofcom, related to several episodes. Episodes involving "Movie Night" and the return of contestants from Casa Amor garnered significant attention for their content.
