Love Island personality Casey O'Gorman has shared his dramatic experience of nearly missing his best friend Tom Clare's wedding in Mallorca due to an overbooked EasyJet flight.
O'Gorman, 29, was set to serve as best man for Clare, 26, and his fiancée Molly Smith, who were celebrating their second wedding ceremony on Saturday, one month after a legal event in Stockport Town Hall. The reality television star detailed the ordeal on his Instagram stories.
Upon checking in at the airport, O'Gorman was informed that his flight was overbooked and he was initially denied boarding. He explained that airlines sometimes sell more tickets than available seats, anticipating that some passengers may miss their flights or cancel. "How can I buy a flight that's sold out? I'm trying to keep calm but it's proving very difficult," O'Gorman stated.
EasyJet later requested passengers to voluntarily give up their seats in exchange for £300 in compensation. O'Gorman observed a fellow passenger who appeared willing to accept the offer. Subsequently, he announced he had secured a seat on the flight, crediting a teacher named Harri for relinquishing her spot. He then FaceTimed groom Tom Clare as he boarded, expressing his frustration with the airline.
O'Gorman eventually arrived at the wedding destination, sharing a video of himself wearing eye patches in Tom's hotel room.
This travel incident follows a recent, similarly eventful first ceremony for Tom and Molly. The couple admitted to experiencing "wobbles" during the final stages of wedding preparations. Their legal ceremony in Stockport concluded with a dinner at The Ivy, which reportedly became a raucous affair with guests dancing on tables, and O'Gorman himself ending up on the floor.
