Molly Smith, known for her appearance on Love Island, is preparing for her wedding to fiancé Tom Clare, with whom she met on Love Island All Stars two years ago. Smith recently disclosed that she has a hereditary essential tremor, a neurological condition that causes involuntary shaking. She expressed concerns that the tremor, which primarily affects the hands and arms during movement, could worsen due to the stress and nerves associated with her wedding day.

"We shake really bad it's hereditary, we have an essential tremor and we do shake really bad," Smith stated on their podcast, NearlyWeds. "So we're both going to be going [shakes] because when I get more nervous and anxious it gets worse." She recalled viewer comments during the Love Island finale, where some perceived her shaking as "annoying."

Essential tremor is described by the Mayo Clinic as a nervous system disorder that causes rhythmic shaking. While it can affect various body parts, it most frequently impacts the hands, particularly during tasks like drinking or tying shoelaces. The condition typically worsens with age, stress, or caffeine intake, but generally subsides during sleep. It is not caused by other conditions and is sometimes confused with Parkinson's disease. Essential tremor can occur at any age but is more common in individuals over 40.

Smith's preparations for the wedding have included a recent hen do in Ibiza, where she showcased swimwear with "Return to Tom" emblazoned on the bottoms and a "Mrs Clare" sarong. She was photographed enjoying cocktails on the beach and later wore a white lace dress for dinner.

Meanwhile, her fiancé Tom Clare celebrated his stag party in Las Vegas. His friends, including fellow Love Island contestants Casey O’Gorman and Mitch Taylor, provided insights into their trip, detailing significant spending on pool parties. O’Gorman mentioned that minimum spends at pool parties could range from $3,500 to $4,000, with their group spending approximately $6,000 at one beach club.

The couple met on Love Island All Stars and won the series in 2024. Smith's journey on the show also involved a connection with her ex-boyfriend Callum, whom she had met during the winter edition of the show in 2020. Despite viewers’ interest in a potential rekindling of their relationship, Smith pursued her connection with Clare.

Regarding the proposal, Tom Clare revealed on their podcast that he asked for Smith's father's blessing for marriage during a family barbecue. He described pulling Smith's father aside to ask for permission, an emotional moment that led to tears and a hug from her father.
