Molly Smith, a participant on the reality television show Love Island, announced her recent marriage over the plane's public address system while returning to Manchester from Mallorca. The announcement came after she lost a bet to her fellow Love Island castmates during a game of Uno at the departure gate.
Smith and her new husband, Tom Clare, concluded a 10-day wedding celebration on the Spanish island. Their second wedding ceremony took place at Son Marroig, a 17th-century marble temple overlooking the sea. The festivities included several Love Island co-stars, such as Sophie Piper, Joshua Ritchie, Casey O'Gorman, and Mitch Taylor.
Upon boarding their flight home, Smith used the tannoy to address the passengers. "Everyone can I just have your attention please," she began. "I hope you all had the best holiday, I did because I just got married," she added, displaying her wedding ring as the passengers applauded. Smith's co-star Sophie Piper shared a humorous account of the post-wedding return, mentioning waking up with a tequila tattoo on her foot after a night out during the celebrations.
Tom Clare, 26, also marked the end of the 10-day event on social media, describing it as an "unbelievable 10 days" and a "magical" experience with his "sole mate." He also revealed he got his first tattoo during the trip.
The wedding events, estimated to have cost around £10,000, saw guests dining at the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant. At one point, the party reportedly led to an intervention by the Guardia Civil after local yacht crew expressed irritation. Racing driver Seb Melrose clarified that the police issued a warning for guests jumping into the port, which is prohibited.
Despite the minor police involvement, Smith appeared unfazed, sharing social media posts that showed her serving shots, posing with her husband, and jumping into the sea with guests. The wedding party, including the bride and groom, were documented swimming in the water and consuming drinks.
Molly and Tom met on the All Stars version of Love Island in 2024, and their relationship developed from there. Smith, 27, stunned in a beaded bridal gown for the wedding, while Clare wore a white tuxedo.
