During the premiere of Love Island's Casa Amor twist on Sunday, contestant Martha Rothwell disclosed her bisexuality and her past relationship with a woman to the male islanders. Rothwell, a personal shopper, revealed that her most recent ex-partner was a woman with whom she shared a nine-month relationship.

Rothwell explained her dating experiences, stating, "Dating men and they were all just ending terribly. My friends were like, 'you need to try a girl' so I changed all my dating apps." She added that she was uncertain of her specific type, as her past relationships with men had varied significantly. Prior to entering the villa, Rothwell had described her ideal partner as "tall, dark and handsome," but emphasized that personality and humor were more important.

The Casa Amor segment introduced six new female contestants, with Rothwell quickly engaging in conversations with Lorenzo and Finley. Other new arrivals also mingled with the male islanders, including Olivia and Charleen speaking with Kavan and Aidan, and Sean connecting with Charleen over a shared acquaintance.

In a separate development on the same night, contestant Gabriel Garland was removed from the villa shortly before his debut. ITV confirmed Garland's departure after being made aware of his alleged connection to court documents concerning Vitor Mazzer. Mazzer was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident on New Year's Eve 2019. Court documents reportedly stated that Garland attended the party with Mazzer, and that two victims had an altercation with Garland before Mazzer allegedly stabbed them. According to The Sun, Gabriel was not charged with any offense, and the judgment made no finding of wrongdoing against him. Mazzer received a 42-month jail sentence, and his appeal was denied in April 2024. A representative for ITV stated, "Gabriel has now left the Villa and will not be returning."
