Unseen "Love Is Blind" star Sammy Harper announced on social media that her engagement to partner Jon has ended, with the breakup occurring via text message mere weeks before they planned to move in together. Harper, 34, shared the news on Sunday, expressing shock and embarrassment at the turn of events.
"My engagement is over, I got dumped by text message, yeah a f**king text," Harper stated. "I was supposed to be moving in with my fiancé in less than two weeks, I was packing up my life and moving across the country. I thought I knew what the next chapter looked like and now I'm single, I don't know where I'm going to live, I'm restarting at 34. And guys I'm embarrassed."
Harper and Jon's relationship was not featured in the final edit of "Love Is Blind." They revealed their secret relationship on Instagram earlier this year, detailing a whirlwind 12-month romance that began after they were engaged on the show. Despite their journey not making it to air, the couple continued their relationship and even purchased a dog named Poddy.
"The year no one saw. We got engaged on Love Is Blind, but our journey didn't make it onto your screens," Harper had previously written on Instagram. Their engagement reportedly occurred on September 6, shortly after a two-week dating period on the show. Forty-eight hours after their engagement, they were informed by producers that their "Love Is Blind" journey was over. The couple then proceeded to navigate their relationship independently, meeting face-to-face for the first time on a holiday the following month. They described their early days as "figuring out how to be a normal couple after the least normal start imaginable," balancing long-distance and a secret engagement.
Earlier this year, in April, Harper and Jon discovered they were expecting their first child on Jon's birthday. However, they experienced a "silent miscarriage" three months later. Harper described the period as incredibly difficult, particularly grieving while living in different parts of the country.
Despite these challenges, the couple had planned to move in together. Harper revealed she was in the process of packing her belongings to relocate when the relationship ended.
