Louise Thompson Criticizes Ex Spencer Matthews in Glowing Tribute to Fiancé

Louise Thompson, known for her role in the reality show 'Made In Chelsea,' recently posted a public reflection on her relationships, offering a pointed critique of her ex-boyfriend Spencer Matthews while showering praise on her fiancé, Ryan Libbey. The social media post, shared on Wednesday, included a montage of memories with Libbey and their son, Leo.

In her message, Thompson, 36, stated that she had spent "years begging a loser for the bare minimum" before finding love with Libbey, 36, who she described as making her "the centre of his universe." She further elaborated in the comment section, adding a footnote: "Sorry make that decades and loser(s) plural."

Thompson recounted finding a man in Libbey who has consistently shown "understanding, gentleness" and has made her feel like the central figure in his life. She advised her followers, "Listen up girls. Marry the kind man. You will need all the kindness when life gets tough. And it always does. Really glad I found myself a kind man after a fair amount of shopping around. Patience is a virtue."

Thompson and Matthews, 38, dated on and off between 2011 and 2013, with their relationship marked by infidelity rumors and a tumultuous on-screen portrayal on 'Made In Chelsea.' One particularly remembered scene involved Matthews telling Thompson, "It's f*****g hard for me to respect you when you allow me to cheat on you." Matthews later claimed they had actually broken up the night before the filmed confrontation.

Matthews married Vogue Williams in 2018, and the couple welcomed their fourth child, Remi Valentine, earlier this month. Williams commented on a fan's remark hoping she hadn't seen Thompson's post, noting, "No longer a loser."

Matthews has previously spoken about regretting his behavior during his time on 'Made In Chelsea,' citing a drinking problem and a "deluded sense of grandeur" as factors contributing to his actions. He stated at the time, "I had no routine, no motivation, no drive and no plan."

After her relationship with Matthews ended, Thompson began dating businessman Alik Alfus in 2014. She later became involved with her personal trainer, Ryan Libbey, in the summer of 2016. The couple announced their engagement in 2018. Thompson credited Libbey with supporting her through significant health challenges, including a near-fatal childbirth experience in 2021.

This is not the first time Thompson has made veiled comments about her past relationships. She has previously tweeted, "I don't have Ex's! I have Y's. Like Y the hell did I date you?!?!!?!?!!?" and joked about dodging a bullet regarding Matthews' proposal to Williams at The Lion King, calling it her "worst nightmare."
