Louis Theroux Admits to Daily Joe Wicks Workouts Amidst Love for Alcohol and Past Cannabis Use

Broadcaster Louis Theroux, 56, has shared that he adheres to a daily exercise routine inspired by fitness influencer Joe Wicks. Theroux revealed this during an appearance on Katherine Ryan's podcast, "What's My Age Again?", where he also candidly discussed his ongoing enjoyment of alcoholic beverages and his past use of cannabis.

Theroux explained that he utilizes Wicks' fitness app for his daily workouts. "I do, a kind of daily, you've heard of the fitness influencer Joe Wicks? So, it sounds odd when I say I do Joe Wicks," he stated. "Yeah but basically every day I do Joe Wicks, I do. I literally do him. I have the app and I don't know if it makes that much of a difference. Like, obviously, I think it does."

Despite his commitment to daily exercise, Theroux admitted that he hasn't entirely forsaken his other habits. He described his relationship with alcohol, saying, "I like the first drink, and then I like the second and the third drink and the fourth. And then I like, being drunk, and then I like going to bed a bit drunk, and then I like, quite like waking up feeling groggy." He likened the experience of recovering from a hangover to a "resurrection."

Reflecting on his younger years, Theroux also mentioned his past practice of smoking cannabis nightly. "I was like 1 or 2 cigarettes at parties and a nightly spliff through my late teens and 20s," he said. "It was a sleep aid... I would just have like one spliff a night just to help me sleep..... Well sometimes a bit more."

This is not the first time Theroux has publicly engaged with Joe Wicks' fitness regimen. In 2021, he shared a shirtless photo after completing a 15-minute workout, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing physical and mental health. He wrote at the time, "As the future looks uncertain again it’s important to look after your physical and mental health. I just did the Joe Wicks 15 minute Bondi Beach workout on YouTube and I already feel a million times better. Take care of yourselves."

A year later, Theroux participated in Joe Wicks' ice bath challenge, enduring the cold for a full minute. Following the challenge, he and Wicks engaged in a workout together, with Wicks noting that Theroux follows his routines five days a week.
