Lottie Moss on Financial Mismanagement and Quitting Modeling

Lottie Moss, 28, has spoken about her experience in the fashion industry, revealing she was left penniless after spending all her earnings on friends' holidays and rent due to a lack of financial guidance. Moss, who followed in the footsteps of her half-sister Kate Moss, stated on the "Olivia's House" podcast that she was a "young, impressionable person" when she began her modeling career, which contributed to poor financial decisions.

Moss also expressed that she believes she "would probably be dead" if she had continued modeling. She made the decision to leave the industry and sign up for the subscription site OnlyFans, describing a period of feeling "lost and lonely."

"I paid for people's rent. I paid for people's holidays. I would pay for everyone's flights," Moss said. "I spent all my money for modelling. I have none of it left. Wow. Not a single drop because you had no guidance. No guidance whatsoever."

She echoed a previous sentiment that her parents may have relied too heavily on her agency to manage her finances, believing that the professionals would handle such matters. "I think they really trusted, you know, they thought these people have done this for years. They've done they must sort of know what they're doing and they handle young women all the time," Moss explained.

Moss characterized her former agency as mismanaging clients, stating there was "no welfare" for her during that time. While acknowledging personal responsibility, she suggested that agencies should provide more support to young models. "As a young sort of impressionable person, I don't think, they should be very early on seeing the signs and sort of helping you and navigate you in a different way. For them, they were just happy as long as I was there."

Discussing her transition to OnlyFans, Moss admitted feeling she had "really fucked this" and worried about ruining her career. She also spoke of the pressures of modeling, including being pressured to maintain a 23-inch waist and being pushed into unwanted jobs. She claimed her agency dropped her after she joined the adult subscription site.

Moss described the modeling industry as "toxic" and recalled feeling negative and bitter due to her career experiences. "I lived in quite a negative space. And I think that's why lots of negative things were happening to me and I was around a lot of negative people."

She has since moved on to launch a wellness and lifestyle events company with a friend, inspired by a yoga retreat. This venture follows the collapse of her previous modeling company, LottieM Ltd, which entered liquidation in April due to historical debts. Moss has also navigated personal challenges, including a stint in rehab in 2022 for cocaine addiction and undergoing treatment to remove a "lover" tattoo from beneath her eye. She is currently in a settled relationship with boyfriend Themy Kalaitzis.
