Lottie Moss on Financial Mismanagement and Quitting Modeling

Model Lottie Moss has revealed that she was left penniless after spending all the money she earned at the height of her career, attributing this to a lack of financial guidance. The 28-year-old, who followed in the footsteps of her half-sister Kate Moss into modeling, stated that she made poor financial decisions as a "young, impressionable person."

Moss detailed on the "Olivia's House" podcast that she funded friends' holidays and rent, spending all her earnings with "no guidance whatsoever." She suggested that her management agency failed to provide adequate support, believing they would handle young models professionally. "They really didn't. I mean, my old agency, I can't name names obviously, but they are just completely like they mismanage people all the time," Moss said.

She expressed that there was "no welfare" for her during her early career and that while personal responsibility is important, agencies should offer more guidance to young individuals entering the industry. "As a young sort of impressionable person, I don't think, they should be very early on seeing the signs and sort of helping you and navigate you in a different way," she added.

Moss also spoke about her decision to leave the modeling industry and join the subscription site OnlyFans, stating she felt "lost and lonely" at the time and feared she had ruined her career. "I got given so many amazing opportunities, but then on the other side of it, of course, there were issues with the agency, and I think if I had carried on doing modelling I'd be dead," she revealed. She described a period of substance abuse, where she felt empty and disconnected.

Following her departure from modeling, Moss is launching a wellness and lifestyle business. This path mirrors her half-sister Kate Moss, who established a beauty and wellness brand, though Kate's venture faced financial difficulties. Lottie Moss's new venture was inspired by a yoga retreat in Ibiza, where she met her business partner.

Moss has previously characterized the modeling industry as "toxic," citing pressure to maintain an extremely slim physique and being pushed into unwanted jobs. Her career has included a stint in rehab in 2022 for cocaine addiction and the removal of a "lover" tattoo under her eye. She also faced family turmoil after joining OnlyFans, with her mother reportedly not speaking to her for weeks.

Her previous company, LottieM Ltd, used for her modeling work, was recently placed into liquidation due to historical debts. Her representative explained that pandemic-era debts, combined with a subsequent drop in earnings after leaving OnlyFans, made repayment impossible. Moss is currently in a settled relationship with boyfriend Themy Kalaitzis, an art dealer and oil broker, whom she says has positively influenced her perspective on men and is accepted by her family.
