Lottie Moss Discusses Strained Relationship with Sister Kate Moss
The model and influencer reveals a lack of communication and past bitterness regarding her relationship with her supermodel sister.

Lottie Moss has spoken candidly about her distant relationship with her older sister, supermodel Kate Moss, stating they have "next to no relationship" and that Kate "doesn't want anything to do with me."
In an appearance on Olivia Attwood's podcast, Olivia's House, Lottie, 28, described feeling "bitter" growing up due to a lack of response from Kate, 52, to her calls and texts. "We just didn't really ever bond and I think that's okay," Lottie said, acknowledging the 24-year age gap and their different upbringings. "But it's hard when you grow up and people are like, 'Oh my god, your sister's got you this, your sister's got you that or how's Kate?' And I'm like, I don't know. You can text her."
Lottie admitted that she "always craved" a closer relationship with Kate, whom she admired as a model. "Every time I text or called I didn't hear anything back, so that was that," she recalled. While acknowledging that it is Kate's life and how she chooses to live it, Lottie emphasized the importance of family and friends to her, stating she has found friends who are like family and that it is "okay that I don't need to have that relationship."
She expressed that she was "embarrassed" by Kate's perceived rejection for a long time, but has since come to accept their dynamic. "I felt bitter about it and I'd spoken about it previously and she got upset but I was like you are my sister too I get to talk about you because this is my experience too," Lottie said. "It is what it is really."
Lottie recounted spending the previous Christmas at Kate's house, but noted that their relationship has never been openly addressed due to its uncomfortable nature. "My family was like that growing up, we didn't talk about anything, we didn't say anything uncomfortable, we didn't talk about my sister," Lottie said, contrasting this with her own desire for honesty. "I'm the complete opposite and I spent last Christmas at my sister's house and I was like, let's just address it and talk about the elephant in the room, let's just be honest. Like we don't have to all pretend to get along."
This is not the first time Lottie has spoken of the distance between them. In 2013, she first claimed Kate would not reply to her messages. The sisters were once reportedly close, with Lottie serving as a bridesmaid at Kate's wedding and even residing at Kate's Cotswolds home during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, tensions reportedly arose due to Lottie's lifestyle choices, including drug use, which contrasted with Kate's efforts to distance herself from her past partying habits. Reports suggest a clash occurred during Lottie's lockdown stay, with Kate allegedly frustrated by Lottie's desire to drink and her social media activity. Kate, who had previously struggled with substance abuse, was reportedly unwilling to be around cocaine use. Lottie reportedly left Kate's home in "a foul mood" at that time.
Despite the reported estrangement, the sisters have been seen together at family gatherings, including posing with their father on his 80th birthday, which was seen by some as a sign of reconciliation.
