Los Angeles Rams Honor Fallen NBC Reporter Eliana Moreno and Pilot George Marciniw
The Rams dedicated a tribute to Moreno and Marciniw, who died in a helicopter crash while covering a story.
Ahead of their Monday Night Football game against the Giants, the Los Angeles Rams honored NBC reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw. Both were tragically killed in a helicopter crash the previous week.
In the press box, the Rams set up a memorial featuring two framed pictures of Moreno and Marciniw, adorned with white flowers and a sign. The sign read, “Forever part of the Los Angeles media family.”
Moreno and Marciniw were covering a bus crash in Chatsworth when their NewsChopper 4 helicopter went down. The crash also resulted in the death of a pedestrian on the ground. Moreno, who referred to herself as “Eli in the Heli” on Instagram, had aspired to be a reporter since she was 11 years old. She had been employed by Angel City Air Inc., the company that operated the helicopter, since September 2010.
Marciniw, a graduate of Burbank High School, was a highly experienced pilot with over 30 years of flight experience and more than 14,000 flight hours logged. He was reportedly nearing retirement at the time of the accident.
