Lorraine Kelly, 66, has shared the lifestyle adjustments she made to lose weight in preparation for her daughter Rosie's wedding.

Kelly and her husband, Steve Smith, adopted a healthier approach earlier this year after she expressed dissatisfaction with her size 16 figure. "We both decided that we would go to the gym twice a week to this class specifically for over 60s," Kelly told Saga Magazine. "It's all about building up muscle strength and balance."

In addition to increased physical activity, the couple reduced their portion sizes and eliminated their nightly ritual of having a "chocolate plate" with tea. "I can't open a packet of biscuits and just have one," Kelly admitted. "So we stopped that completely."

They also reduced their alcohol consumption, though they did enjoy a glass of champagne at the wedding. Kelly stated she is now "looking after [herself] a lot better" by taking supplements, swimming, and walking their dog.

Rosie, an influencer, married her partner Steve White in July at the Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane, Scotland. She announced the wedding on social media, sharing that she was "decompressing in Edinburgh after the most special weekend of our lives."

Rosie and White became engaged in June 2024, shortly before welcoming their daughter, Billie, making Kelly a grandmother. Kelly has expressed joy in her new role, noting that it offers her a chance to experience motherhood again, but in a different capacity than when she raised Rosie while working in television.

Reflecting on her own experience as a working mother in the 1990s, Kelly recalled that pregnant women on television were less common and still somewhat unusual, particularly on live broadcasts. She credited Anne Diamond as a trailblazer for pregnant women on television.

Kelly announced the birth of her granddaughter on Instagram in August 2024, calling Billie an "angel" and expressing pride in Rosie and Steve as parents. She added, "I'm delighted to be Granny Smith and can't wait to go on adventures."

Rosie also shared the birth announcement, noting that Billie was born on August 29, 2024, and has been welcomed with "so much love."
