A dramatic incident occurred on Interstate 76 in Philadelphia when a loose tire detached from a vehicle and collided with an oncoming SUV. The event, captured on dashcam footage, shows the tire crossing the highway median before striking the Nissan SUV.
The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The dashcam video shows the Nissan traveling westbound in the left lane when the tire came into view, landing on the SUV's hood and then shattering the windshield. A separate video obtained by NBC10 shows the tire bouncing over the median at high speed moments before impact.
The source of the detached tire was not immediately identified, and it remains unclear if any injuries resulted from the collision. The Pennsylvania State Police have been contacted for further information.
