Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old mother of four and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, died Friday when her SUV veered into a backyard swimming pool at her Hewlett, New York, home. Sources close to the investigation told The Post that foul play has been ruled out and investigators suspect Rahmani suffered a medical emergency that led to the fatal incident.
Rahmani was able to call 911 from within the submerged vehicle but could not be saved. She was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. The incident occurred on August 21, 2026.
Funeral services were held for Rahmani on Sunday at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett. She had been scheduled to depart for a trip to Paris with her husband, Matthew Rahmani, president of Irving Place Minyan Orthodox Synagogue in Woodmere, on the same day as her funeral.
During the service, her husband recited the Jewish wedding prayer, “Eshet Chayil,” also known as “Woman of Valor.” Rahmani’s mother, Rachelle Rohde, delivered a eulogy, telling mourners that the family “will never be the same.”
Rahmani had recently celebrated her 40th birthday.
