A 40-year-old woman, identified as Allison Rahmani, died Friday after her SUV crashed into a swimming pool at her home in Hewlett, Nassau County, Long Island. Rahmani, a mother of four, was a teacher and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway.
Sources close to the family reported that Rahmani was able to call for help after the incident but died en route to the hospital. The crash occurred when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle, causing it to plunge into the backyard pool.
Her husband, Matthew Rahmani, serves as president of the Irving Place Minyan Modern Orthodox synagogue in Woodmere. Tributes have been shared on social media, with one user describing her as "the most amazing person" and another calling her a "LIGHT that shined from the minute she walked in till the minute she left. Always appreciative and kind to us all."
The incident remains under investigation.
