London Luxury Club Maison Estelle Shut Down by Police Over Public Safety Concerns
Metropolitan Police cite 'serious public safety matter' leading to 28-day license suspension for the exclusive Mayfair venue.
Maison Estelle, an opulent Mayfair club that has attracted celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Noel Gallagher, and Kim Kardashian, has been ordered to close for 28 days due to public safety concerns. The Metropolitan Police applied to Westminster Council for a license review, citing the premises' association with "serious crime, or serious disorder, or both."
The club, which charges an annual £4,250 subscription fee, informed its members that the closure stems from a "serious public safety matter" and that it would remain shut for "a few weeks." A private hearing was held, resulting in the immediate suspension of the venue's alcohol license. A further hearing is scheduled to take place in due course.
Maison Estelle, housed in a 1772 townhouse, boasts three restaurants, ten bars, and a nightclub. It was founded by hospitality entrepreneur Sharan Pasricha and his wife, Eiesha Mittal, daughter of billionaire Sunil Mittal. A spokesperson for Maison Estelle stated, "The safety of our staff, our members and their guests will always come first."
