Simon Levy has been sentenced to a whole-life tariff for a seven-year crime spree that included at least 13 sexual assaults and the murders of two women. The 40-year-old also raped and suffocated a sex worker between 2018 and 2025.

Levy, who was partially blind, wore thick dark sunglasses throughout his six-week trial at the Old Bailey, obscuring his reactions to the harrowing testimonies presented. He appeared in prison-issued grey tracksuits and soft black trainers, with his beard and hair growing unchecked during the proceedings.

Prosecutors detailed the brutality of his crimes, but Levy did not testify in his defense, denying victims' families, jurors, and the public insight into his motives. He was repeatedly released on bail by British Transport Police, the Metropolitan Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, and magistrates, allowing him to continue targeting victims.

The court heard how Levy preyed on victims in deprived areas of London and on the Tube. His crimes culminated in the murders of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, and Sheryl Wilkins, 39.

Valencia-Trujillo was found strangled in the stairwell of a tower block on the Aylesbury estate in Peckham in March 2025. Neighbours remembered her as a flamboyant character devoted to her children. Her daughter described her death as "horrific."

Wilkins, a mother of three, was found dead in the car park behind a B&M store in Tottenham in August 2025. Witnesses testified to seeing Levy lying on top of her as he strangled her after assaulting her. Her family expressed rage throughout the trial.

One of Levy's victims, a sex worker who survived his attack, courageously recounted her ordeal in court. She described being sexually assaulted, suffering a broken shoulder, and being rendered unconscious by Levy in January 2025. The jury was informed by an expert that these were the final stages before death by strangulation. Levy's defense attorney reportedly questioned her aggressively during her testimony.

Levy had a history of offenses, appearing in court about 15 years prior for receiving stolen goods. In 2023, he served three months in bail accommodation after being convicted of sex attacks at a party in Camden Town and at Notting Hill Carnival. Despite these convictions, he was released on bail again, continuing his predatory behavior.

Investigators traced Levy's movements through London, noting his familiarity with areas such as the B&M car park in Tottenham and the Aylesbury estate in Peckham. These locations are described as hubs for drug dealing and illicit activities. Levy, described by neighbors as having no friends, reportedly viewed his encounters with prostitutes as trophies.

Levy's mother declined to comment on her son, and his solicitor did not provide a character reference. The prosecution painted a picture of a cold and remorseless individual, whose only consistent behavior during the trial was to hide his face behind sunglasses. He was ultimately deemed a coward by those who studied his case.
