Several prominent figures from Australian reality television, including cast members from "Married At First Sight" and "The Golden Bachelor," have reportedly not received invitations to the upcoming Logie Awards, despite their shows being nominated. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 16 at The Star Sydney.
Sources indicate that the entire 2026 "Married At First Sight" cast, which includes individuals like Scott McCristal, Joel Moses, Grayson McIvor, and Luke Fourniotis, is unlikely to attend. Even former on-screen couple Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov, who were considered a success story from the show, have not been invited following their recent split.
An insider suggested that the breakup diminished the couple's appeal as a pair for the event, and individually, their post-show profiles had not sustained the same level of public attention. With limited seating, organizers prioritized other guests.
More controversial "Married At First Sight" participants, such as Danny Hewitt, Bec Zacharia, Gia Fleur, and Juliette Chae, are also reportedly excluded. The show's relationship experts, John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla, are expected to be the official representatives for the nominated program.
Similarly, "The Golden Bachelor" couple Barry 'Bear' Myrden and Sunny Long have not received any information regarding invitations, despite their show competing against "Married At First Sight" for Best Structured Reality Program. This exclusion is particularly notable given the show's nomination.
Former contestants from "The Block" are also understood to have been overlooked, even though their program is nominated for Best Competition Reality Program. One source suggested that while the shows are invited, many of the personalities that made them popular are not, potentially due to concerns about unpredictable behavior or red-carpet incidents.
This situation follows a separate invitation dispute involving former "Home and Away" star Lynne McGranger. McGranger claimed she had not been invited to the Logies, a year after winning the Gold Logie. However, Logies organizers stated that an invitation was sent to her agent in June and subsequently declined via the event's online portal, with McGranger reportedly unavailable due to travel commitments and her departure from "Home and Away" after 33 years.
"Married At First Sight" has a history of limited cast invitations to the Logies, irrespective of its popularity or cultural impact. The show, now in its 13th season and sold internationally to over 120 countries, has never won a Logie. This year, it is nominated for Best Structured Reality Program alongside "Farmer Wants A Wife," "Gogglebox Australia," "Muster Dogs," "The Golden Bachelor," and "The Hospital: In The Deep End."
The 66th TV Week Logie Awards will be hosted by Robert Irwin and broadcast live on Seven and 7plus on Sunday, August 16.
