Lizzie Cundy recently showcased a £15 charity shop dress at a book launch event in Mayfair, following a controversy at Royal Ascot where she was reportedly asked to leave for flouting the event's strict dress code. The former "WAG" wore the form-fitting, thigh-skimming slip dress, complete with a cowl neck, to a charity event celebrating Dr. Nighat Arif's new book, "The Complete Guide to Family Health."

Her appearance at the launch, where she co-hosted alongside Saira Khan, comes after she was turned away from Royal Ascot last month. Cundy was accused of violating the dress code with a netted ensemble featuring a high slit. She later defended her outfit, stating it had a beige underlay and gave the illusion of being more revealing than it was.

During an appearance on "Good Morning Britain," Cundy apologized but also suggested that Royal Ascot's rules should be updated to reflect modern fashion. She argued that fashion is a form of self-expression and that rules should be reviewed annually.
"I honestly think we're taking this too seriously," Cundy stated, referring to the dress code controversy. "Look at what's going on in the world. I mean, I abide by the rules but in fashion I like to reflect my personality. Fashions change, we need to have the Ascot rules reviewed yearly as fashion looks change through the seasons. We need it updated."
Fellow attendees at the book launch included Saira Khan, who wore a sequined ankle-length dress, and Dr. Nighat Arif, who was in a floral gown. Dr. Hilary Jones also attended, opting for a grey blazer and white shirt.

Etiquette expert Laura Windsor commented on the situation, noting that while she understands Cundy's desire for personal expression through clothing, the outfit in question did appear see-through due to a skin-colored camisole underneath, despite the event's specific guidelines.
