Social media personality and former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne revealed that she received a direct message from Andrew Tate that made her consider deactivating her Instagram account. The revelation came during an interview at Fanatics Fest in New York City.
Dunne described the message as the "funniest DM" she had ever received, stating, "I know this is controversial. Andrew Tate one time messaged me and I was like, I need to like delete Instagram forever." She added that her consideration of leaving the platform ended when Tate's account was eventually deactivated.
The interviewer reacted with surprise to Dunne's admission, saying she would also consider deleting her own Instagram account after such an interaction.
Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested in Miami on Saturday. They face multiple sex crime charges and are awaiting extradition to the United Kingdom, where they face a combined 59 charges including rape, sex trafficking, and possession of indecent images of a child, according to the BBC. The brothers are also under criminal investigation in Romania, where they are based.
Lawyer Matt Jury, representing several alleged British victims, stated, "Andrew and Tristan Tate are accused of some of the most serious offenses, including multiple counts of rape and human trafficking. It is time they face justice." Conversely, the Tates' lawyer, Joseph McBride, asserted his clients' innocence, claiming, "We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free."
