Livvy Dunne has addressed her vocal and animated game-day behavior while watching her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes. Speaking on the MLB Network during the All-Star red carpet in Philadelphia, Dunne acknowledged that she becomes deeply invested when Skenes is on the mound.
"I get nervous because I obviously want him to do his best," Dunne stated. "I love him. He usually pops out, does his thing, does amazing. But I feel every emotion while he’s out there doing his thing."
She described the experience as difficult because it is beyond her control, contrasting it with her time as a collegiate gymnast. "It’s completely out of my control, which is really hard because while I was competing, I mean, I was in control of my own destiny. Now I just need to sit back, relax and trust him."
This sentiment recalls an incident in May where Dunne was caught on broadcast muttering profanities during a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Following a home run that put the Blue Jays ahead, Dunne was seen audibly saying "f-k" twice, visibly frustrated. At the time, commentators noted her intense involvement in the game, referencing her background as an LSU gymnast and her significant social media presence.
Dunne and Skenes, who met while attending LSU and have been together since 2023, appeared in matching outfits on the red carpet. Dunne wore a black dress with light blue accents, while Skenes sported a light blue suit, black tie, and sunglasses. Skenes, who had a 1.97 ERA in the 2025 season and a career-high 3.57 ERA, did not pitch in the All-Star Game as he had pitched for the Pirates on the final Sunday before the break.
