Phenix City Little League pitcher Kinley Rasmus delivered another standout performance in a walk-off victory for the Southeast Region team against West Chester Little League. Rasmus entered the game in the third inning and recorded six strikeouts, bringing her Little League World Series total to 14 and tying Mo’ne Davis's record for the most strikeouts by a female player in the tournament's history.

Performance on the Mound and at the Plate

In addition to her pitching, Rasmus contributed offensively, getting a hit in three at-bats. In the bottom of the third inning, she drove in the game-tying run with a single to left field, scoring Easton Allen. Rasmus pitched 4 ⅔ innings, allowing only two hits and no runs. She noted the importance of focusing on throwing strikes and trusting her defense.

Rasmus, whose father is former MLB player Cory Rasmus and uncle is outfielder Colby Rasmus, entered the game with Phenix City trailing 5-0. Her play has been a significant highlight of the Little League World Series. Earlier in the tournament, she made a leaping catch at shortstop to prevent a hit and recorded eight strikeouts in a single game against Washington, making her the first girl since Mo'ne Davis in 2014 to achieve that number of strikeouts in one tournament game.

The Phenix City team will continue their pursuit of the Little League World Series title in an elimination bracket game against Washington.
