TV chef Lisa Faulkner, 54, has shared an emotional update with her fans following her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this week. Faulkner revealed that she has already undergone surgery to remove early-stage breast cancer and is now preparing for a course of radiotherapy in the coming weeks.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Faulkner expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support and kind messages she has received. "Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart," she wrote, acknowledging that many of her followers are navigating similar health challenges.
Faulkner disclosed that she had surgery two weeks ago, describing it as a "big op." She shared that the results confirmed the cancer had been entirely removed and that she is now focusing on her recovery. "I just wanted to say I've got a bit of healing to do but I'm good. I'm well and feeling so much better and I'm so grateful I went for my mammogram," she stated.
She emphasized the importance of early detection and encouraged others to attend their screening appointments. "I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up," Faulkner advised. She also extended thanks to the NHS for providing accessible mammograms and timely treatment.
Faulkner's daughter, Billie Coghill, shared a supportive message on social media, calling her mother an "absolute inspiration." Friends and colleagues, including presenter Kate Lawler and journalist Lorraine Candy, also sent messages of well wishes.
Faulkner, known for co-presenting "John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen" with her husband, MasterChef star John Torode, first met Torode when she competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2010, which she won. They later became a couple and married. Faulkner has since built a successful career around her culinary expertise, authoring several bestselling cookbooks.
