Lisa Faulkner has expressed her gratitude to her husband, John Torode, for his unwavering support during her ongoing battle with breast cancer. The 54-year-old TV chef took to social media to share a touching tribute to Torode, calling him a "wonderful nurse" and a "best friend."

Faulkner recently announced her diagnosis and revealed that she has already undergone surgery and is scheduled for radiotherapy. She shared her appreciation for Torode on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of him in their garden. "I don't know how I would have coped without this one," she wrote. "John Torode you make a wonderful nurse and best friend and I adore you. Thank you for holding me up."

Torode, 61, has been a constant presence by Faulkner's side throughout her treatment. The couple, who married in October 2019, first met in 2010 on the set of Celebrity MasterChef, which Faulkner went on to win. They began their relationship a few years later.

Faulkner also thanked her followers for their outpouring of support since she shared her news. "Thank you for all of your support and your lovely messages," she stated. "So many of you going through this or know someone who is. Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

She had previously explained her quiet period on social media was due to undergoing treatment. "I know I've been very quiet on here, reason being I have had to have surgery for the early stages of breast cancer," Faulkner said. "I had surgery two weeks ago, it was quite a big op but it's all good and I've my results back and they've got everything out. So it's all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks."

Faulkner encouraged others to attend regular mammograms, emphasizing their importance in early detection. "I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up," she urged. "Thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early."

Her daughter, Billie Coghill, also shared a supportive message, calling Faulkner her "absolute inspiration."

Faulkner has built a successful career around cooking, writing several bestselling cookbooks and co-presenting "John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen" with her husband.
