Darline Graham Nordone, the only surviving family member of Sen. Lindsey Graham, has expressed devastation following her brother's death. Former President Donald Trump announced Monday that he had recommended Nordone to fill the vacant South Carolina Senate seat until a special election can be held.
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Graham's "wonderful sister" would be a "fabulous tribute" to the senator, who he said loved her dearly.
South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster is responsible for selecting the interim senator and is scheduled to make an announcement at a 4 p.m. press conference.
Sen. Graham died Saturday night following a heart attack. Nordone briefly spoke with The Post on Monday about the loss of her brother.
