Lindsay Clancy's attorney has disputed claims that his client will testify in a civil lawsuit filed by her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, against healthcare providers. Howard Cooper, representing Lindsay Clancy, stated that his client never informed her healthcare providers that she experienced homicidal ideation toward her children.
During a hearing in Norfolk County Superior Court, Cooper asserted that Lindsay Clancy did not tell these providers she harbored such thoughts. He also stated that she never indicated an intention to testify in Patrick Clancy's lawsuit, and that no one acting on her behalf made such representations.
Patrick and Lindsay Clancy have each filed lawsuits against hospitals and healthcare providers. They allege that deficiencies in Lindsay Clancy's medical care contributed to the deaths of their three children: Callan, Cora, and Dawson. Attorneys for the healthcare providers have sought to dismiss these lawsuits, arguing that Lindsay Clancy did not disclose homicidal thoughts during her treatment.
Lindsay Clancy, 36, faced three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children, all under the age of 6. The children were found strangled in the family's home in January 2023. A mistrial was declared in September 2026 after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict, with the jury divided 11-1.
Cooper said in court that he expects Lindsay Clancy to testify in the civil case, once her Fifth Amendment issues are resolved. He added that she would testify that she explicitly told her defendants she had homicidal ideation and was worried something awful would happen to her children.
However, Lindsay Clancy's lawyer, Kevin Reddington, issued a statement refuting these claims. Reddington stated that his client has never said she would testify and has never told her healthcare providers she had homicidal thoughts about her children. He emphasized that Patrick Clancy's counsel does not speak for Lindsay Clancy.
