Lindsay Clancy's attorney is urging the Plymouth County Superior Court to dismiss the triple-murder case, contending that prosecutors have not provided enough evidence to secure a conviction. Attorney Kevin Reddington filed a motion on Thursday requesting that Judge William Sullivan enter a finding of not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility for each of the charges against Clancy.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three murder charges in connection with the deaths of her 5-year-old daughter Cora, 3-year-old son Dawson, and infant son Callan. The children died at the family's home in Duxbury, a suburb of Boston, on January 24, 2023.
The five-week trial concluded on September 4 with a mistrial. Jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict after deliberating for seven days.
