Lily James Appears with Family at London Film Festival Premiere

Actress Lily James, 37, made a rare public appearance with her family at the BFI London Film Festival on Monday. She was joined by her mother, Ninette Thomson, and her brothers, Charlie and Sam, to support her at a screening of her new mystery drama, "The Liberation."

The film, based on the experiences of director Guy Nattiv's grandmother, centers on involvement in a cult in the 1980s. James portrays Ricki, a spiritual guru and cult leader, in the movie. The plot follows a middle-aged Holocaust survivor, Rita Cooper, played by Carrie Coon, who joins the commune led by Ricki to heal past trauma. Rita's daughters, portrayed by Bella Ramsey and Odessa Young, attempt to find and rescue her.

James attended the event in a stylish black dress with lace detailing, paired with black court shoes and drop earrings. Her mother wore a black jumpsuit and leather jacket. James shared photos from the evening, writing, "Home for a whirlwind trip to the London Film Festival screening of The Liberation with this incredible family (plus my real one, too!) BFI thank you."

She also commented on her brothers, who were dressed in navy suits, stating, "Ps. I have very handsome brothers & I nearly fell asleep in the lift."

"The Liberation" is scheduled for release in January. The BFI London Film Festival, now in its 70th edition, features 251 film titles from 88 countries and runs through October 18.

Earlier in the festival, James also attended the gala screening of "The Liberation" at Vue West End, where she wore a strapless white gown and metallic heels.

This appearance follows James's revelation that she had taken a break from acting after feeling "beyond burned out." To reset, she embarked on an eight-month solo trip to Cambodia, describing the experience as a way to "recharge" and find "new sources of inspiration."
