Lily James garnered attention in an elegant white gown at the gala screening of "The Liberation" during the BFI London Film Festival at Vue West End on Saturday evening. She was joined at the premiere by Bella Ramsey, marking Ramsey's first public appearance since their elimination from the reality competition show "Celebrity Traitors" on Friday night. Host Maya Jama had identified Ramsey, 23, as the contestants' "biggest threat" prior to their "murder" on the show.

In "The Liberation," James, 37, portrays Ricki, a spiritual guru and cult leader in a drama set in the 1980s. The film centers on Rita Cooper (Carrie Coon), a Holocaust survivor who joins Ricki's remote commune to confront past trauma. Rita's daughters, played by Ramsey and Odessa Young, attempt to locate and rescue her from the commune.

The 70th annual BFI London Film Festival, organized by the BFI, commenced on Wednesday and is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, October 18. The festival features 251 films from 88 countries, including world premieres, immersive media installations, and screen talks.

James's appearance follows her recent revelation about experiencing severe burnout. The actress shared that she took a break from acting to embark on an eight-month solo trip to Cambodia, which she described as a "trip of a lifetime" for recharging and finding new inspiration. James noted that she had been working consistently since age 21 and was concerned about losing her passion for acting. She expressed the need to be honest with herself and to reclaim control of her life through her travels.
