LifeLock Offers Identity Theft Protection Plans Starting at $10.42 Per Month

Identity theft can significantly impact personal finances, prompting the need for services that monitor personal information and credit accounts. LifeLock provides three distinct plans, with pricing beginning at approximately $10.42 per month when billed annually. Depending on the selected plan, members may also be eligible for reimbursement for certain losses resulting from identity theft and fraud.

The Importance of Identity Theft Protection

In 2025, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recorded over 1.3 million reports of identity theft, underscoring the prevalence of this issue. Identity theft protection services like LifeLock actively monitor an individual's personal information for signs of misuse. This monitoring can detect instances where personal data, such as a Social Security number, is used to open new accounts or apply for loans, or if it appears on the dark web.

Early detection through these alerts can help individuals mitigate the damage caused by identity theft. Some protection plans also offer tracking of changes to credit and financial accounts, providing an additional layer of security against unauthorized activity.

How LifeLock Safeguards Information

LifeLock's services are designed to monitor personal and financial information to facilitate early detection of potential identity theft. All three available plans include monitoring of identity and Social Security numbers, dark web activity, and alerts for suspicious activities. Higher-tier plans offer additional features, such as credit monitoring from multiple bureaus and monitoring of payday loan, utility, and social media account activity. A dedicated scam assistant is available to provide guidance and answer cyber safety questions in case of information compromise.

LifeLock monitors your credit score, utility accounts, credit accounts and more with select plans.

Depending on the plan, LifeLock provides up to $3 million in identity theft coverage. The two premium plans also include reimbursement for eligible scam-related losses, up to $10,000.

Choosing the Right LifeLock Plan

Customers can achieve a 16% savings by opting for annual billing over monthly payments. The plans are structured as follows:

  • Core: This entry-level plan costs $10.42 per month (billed annually) and includes identity monitoring, alerts for up to two bank and credit accounts, monitoring from two credit bureaus, and up to $1.05 million in identity theft coverage.
  • Advanced: Priced at $16.67 per month (billed annually), this mid-tier plan expands bank alerts to five accounts and monitors all three credit bureaus. It also offers up to $1.2 million in identity theft coverage and $5,000 in scam reimbursement.
  • Total: The most comprehensive plan is $29.17 per month (billed annually). It adds monitoring for home title and investment accounts, along with up to $3 million in identity theft coverage and $10,000 in scam reimbursement.

Some plans offer scam and identity theft reimbursement.

Protecting personal assets is considered a prudent measure at any stage of financial development. LifeLock's tiered plans are presented as a valuable investment for safeguarding against identity theft.
