A dramatic rescue unfolded Saturday at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, California, when a young boy was caught in powerful waves and dragged out to sea.

Video footage captured the harrowing moments as the child struggled against the churning surf. A 16-year-old lifeguard immediately entered the water and battled the strong currents to reach the boy. Other beachgoers and a second lifeguard also rushed to assist, helping to bring the child safely back to shore.

The child was evaluated by paramedics on the scene and subsequently reunited with his family. The incident occurred amidst large waves, described as "killer waves" and "monster waves" by witnesses, highlighting the dangerous conditions at the beach.

Eric Trump reposted the video of the rescue, commending the young lifeguard. "Give this 16-year-old lifeguard the highest civilian honor. This is truly the best of America! Well done!," he stated in a social media post, according to the New York Post.
