Liev Schreiber berates Apple TV reporter at premiere

Actor Liev Schreiber was captured on video verbally confronting a reporter at the red carpet premiere for his new Apple TV+ series, "Nocturne." The journalist, who works for Apple, apparently asked a question that displeased Schreiber.

"Talk to people like you value what they do. It's not a fing sound bite, especially when we're doing this in house for our own people," Schreiber stated, according to reports. He continued, "We're trying to make the show compelling, so engage with the person like they're an artist or they're an actor." He further criticized the reporter's question, calling it "three words" that wouldn't be useful and compared it to something "a monkey could've fing thought of."

The reporter responded by joking, "I hope you're rolling on this," which elicited a laugh from Schreiber and seemed to ease the tension. Schreiber then advised, "If you wanna give them something that they can use, talk to people like they're humans, not like it's social media."

After the exchange, Schreiber and the reporter were reportedly able to continue their conversation cordially.

"Nocturne" is based on novels by Lars Kepler and stars Schreiber as Jonah, a homicide detective who moves to the Western Pennsylvania countryside seeking tranquility, only to be targeted by a serial killer named Jurek Walter, portrayed by Stephen Graham. Zazie Beetz plays FBI special agent Saga. The cast also includes Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, and Bill Camp. The series, created by Rowan Jaffe, is set to premiere its first two episodes on October 30.
