Lexi Wood Honors Presley Gerber Amidst Suspected Overdose Death

Influencer and former reality star Lexi Wood, who was romantically linked to model Presley Gerber, has paid tribute to him following his death at age 27. Gerber died at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, and his death is being investigated as a suspected overdose.

Wood, who dated Gerber briefly in 2022, took to Instagram to share throwback photos and videos of their time together, reflecting on their years of friendship and love. She described Gerber as one of the kindest, most open, loving, and courageous people, noting his resilience and his fight for life. "He fought so hard for his life and he was brave enough to be open about that fight," Wood wrote. "More than anything, he wanted to use his story to help other people, and he did."

She added, "I feel so lucky to have shared so many years of friendship, so many memories and so much love with him. He will always hold such a special place in my heart, and we will all miss him forever."

Wood is not the only ex-girlfriend to publicly mourn Gerber. Charlotte D'Alessio, who dated Gerber for approximately two years starting in 2018, also shared an emotional tribute, writing that they shared a "pure love" and expressing anger over his death.

Presley Gerber, the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, had been open about his decade-long struggle with drug addiction, panic attacks, and mental health issues. Earlier this year, he documented his experience with ibogaine treatment at a clinic in Mexico, a process aimed at helping with withdrawal symptoms and inducing a mental reset. His parents and sister, Kaia Gerber, had praised his courage for sharing his journey.

In November, Gerber announced he was taking a break from social media to focus on his mental health. He later began sharing "Mental Health Mondays" videos on Instagram, discussing his panic attacks and fluctuating medication use. He spoke candidly about experiencing significant loss and the difficulty of managing his mental health, noting that he had seen numerous psychiatrists and felt a lack of direction regarding his treatment.

His death occurred weeks after his sister Kaia Gerber spoke to Vogue about the impact of her brother's struggles on their family, stating that such turmoil "levels everyone." She also described herself as the "easy" child, striving not to add to her parents' burdens.

Gerber, who began modeling at age 15 and appeared in campaigns for brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein, had also struggled with mental health from a young age. He was arrested for driving under the influence in 2019. Despite his personal challenges, Gerber expressed a desire to help others through his experiences, hoping his story could assist those facing similar battles.

A spokesperson for Cindy Crawford stated that the family is requesting privacy during this "very difficult and painful time."
